If there is one thing Kevin Verpaele is more proud of than his family, it’s hard to imagine what that is. He will happily tell anyone about his oldest daughter, for whom he would break football practice to pick up from day care, is now a sophomore at the University of Alabama, where she has made the Dean’s List and has a high GPA. His other five children are similarly successful, except for those who are too young to have accomplished anything so far. But he has little doubt they will all be successful someday. Kevin Verpaele was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, but he has lived most of his 37 years in Florida. He grew up in Merritt Island, where he graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1999, and following graduation, he attended the University of South Florida on a football scholarship, where he became a starting safety, while also being married and raising a child. A testament to his sense of family responsibility comes with his willingness to leave football practice early to pick up his daughter from her child care facility. He would wear his entire uniform, and finish practice immediately after. His dedication was so impressive, he became the team captain in his senior year. After college, he and the family moved to a home in Melbourne, in Brevard County. Since then, Kevin Verpaele has managed to accumulate a lot of work experience in many areas. For example, right after college, Kevin was a configuration manager on the Space Lift Range Systems at Patrick Air Force Base. Currently, he owns and operates Critter Ridders Pest Control, where he offers a wide range of pest prevention and remediation services to residential and commercial properties throughout Brevard County, at fair prices.
