Attaining a full football scholarship for college, young Kevin Verpaele would not let his growing family stop him from successes on and off the field. With then-girlfriend Kathleen Rao and first child Kaley in tow, Verpaele began studies and sports at the University of South Florida. By sophomore year, he was married to Rao. The couple lived off campus with Kaley and managed their time between education, work and other endeavors as best as possible. Verpaele fondly recalls leaving football practices early, and in full football uniform, to pick up Kaley from daycare twice per week. By the end of college, Verpaele and Rao were not only equipped for a flourishing future with USF degrees, but they had a second child, Karys. The family relocated to Brevard County, Florida, and continued to blossom -- in careers and with four more children in the decade and a half to follow. Today, as the parents of six, Rao works as a dermatologic nurse practitioner as Kevin Verpaele grows his new Brevard County business, Critter Ridders Pest Control. Comments are closed.
